OpenSea Makes ‘Deals,’ Launches Peer-to-Peer NFT Swaps (July 20)
NFT marketplace OpenSea is rolling out a new feature named "Deals" that allows direct peer-to-peer NFT trading, enabling collectors to augment their collections and interact directly with other collectors. Users can sweeten the deal by including wrapped ether (WETH). Powered by OpenSea's Seaport protocol, this feature aims to create a trustworthy swapping environment, thus negating the need for risky off-platform trades. "Deals" currently requires that NFTs on both sides of the deal be from verified collections on the same chain.

Doodles to open 3,500 square ft IRL retail experience in Chicago on Aug 19 (July 20)
Doodles, the celebrated Web3 brand, has announced its partnership with family entertainment company Camp for an immersive 3,500-square-foot experience, scheduled to launch on August 19. This strategic move is a part of Doodles' evolution from an NFT project to a mainstream multimedia brand. Lenovo is developing ThinkReality VRX, a VR headset designed for workplace use, as part of its metaverse vision. Priced from $1299, it's compared to Meta's Quest Pro headset but with a focus on productivity. Lenovo's metaverse ambitions also include the Glasses T1, AR glasses designed to create a large virtual monitor for work.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its popular Chicken McNuggets, McDonald’s Hong Kong has launched McNuggets Land, a virtual world in The Sandbox metaverse. Until Aug 28, players can interact with nugget characters, experience sauce-inspired decor, and complete quests for rewards both in the metaverse and real-life. Notably, McDonald’s has previously engaged with the web3 space, with McRib-inspired NFTs in the US and Big Mac NFTs in France in 2021.
