1. Bernard Arnault | World’s Richet Man Owns NFTs (May 2)
Bernard Arnault, the world's richest man and owner of countless luxury brands, has a personal collection of NFTs. Ian Rogers, CDO @ LVMH, recently confirmed his participation in the NFT space by seeing Bernard share his OpenSea page. Both his sons are also involved and fans of the technology.
2. Former OpenSea executive convicted of fraud and money laundering in NFT insider trading case (May 3)
Former OpenSea NFT marketplace Product Head, Nate Chastain, has been found guilty of fraud and money laundering for illegally profiting from insider knowledge of which NFTs would be featured on the site. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for each charge. Chastain was asked to resign by OpenSea in September 2021 after evidence of his insider trades was discovered. This case could set a precedent for similar charges.
3. Midjourney 5.1 Arrives -And It’s Another Leap Forward For AI Art (May 3)
Midjourney 5.1 has been released, bringing another significant improvement in the quality of results from the generative AI art service. Version 5.1 is “more opinionated”, bringing it closer to the kind of results that you would get with version 4 of Midjourney, but at a higher quality. There’s also a “raw” mode, for those who don’t want images that are as strongly opinionated.

1. Blur set a new daily lending record with 8,875 ETH loaned ($16M) on its first day with Blend (May 2) #NFT
According to data sourced from user @beetle from Dune Dashboard, NFT marketplace Blur has facilitated 8,820 $ETH, (roughly $16.37 million) in loans through perpetual NFT lending protocol Blend one day after it launched.
2. Othersidemeta shares details on Environment tiers (May3) #Web3 Game
In last week’s update, Otherside shared how Environment tiers affect worker capacity in LotM. Tiers matter when it comes to Sediment, too — the higher your Sediment tier, the more Sediment Fragments your Otherdeed will produce.
3. The White House calls for AI risks meeting (May 3) #AIGC
The White House plans to meet with executives from Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic to discuss the risks of AI. The meeting will include CEOs of these companies, such as Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella. This follows an Open Letter from tech leaders calling for a halt on AI development beyond GPT-4, and warnings from Geoffrey Hinton, the "Godfather of AI," who recently left Google to raise awareness of the potential dangers of AI.
4. Samsung bans ChatGPT from company devices (May 2) #AIGC
Samsung has temporarily banned the use of generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, on company-owned devices and internal networks due to a recent data leak. The ban will be lifted once secure measures are established to safely use AI for employee productivity. However, this restriction will not affect consumers or other Samsung device owners.

7. Consensys : NFT Loyalty Program for Early Users (May 2) #NFT
ConsenSys-built Layer 2 network Linea is introducing a loyalty NFT campaign to boost activity on its testnet. Layer 2 loyalty campaigns have resulted in large increases in activity on networks sometimes causing congestion on the network.
8. Sotheby’s : Secondary Marketplace Launch (May 1) #NFT
Sotheby's launched an on-chain secondary market for digital art. The market is open to a carefully selected group of artists. The integrated sales system will be fully on-chain via Ethereum and Polygon, and users can pay in either native token.
9. Court finds Apple's 30% NFT Tax Mandate on iOS illegal (May 1) #NFT
Apple forcing developers to use its in-app payment system for NFT transactions— violates California's Unfair Competition Law.
