South Korea’s financial regulators have introduced new guidelines for NFTs in preparation for the upcoming Virtual Asset User Protection Act, effective July 19. This update marks a reclassification of NFTs, which were previously not considered virtual assets in South Korea.
Web3|Polygon Launches Community Grants Program for Web3 Projects (June 12)
The program, approved by a community vote, will release one billion $POL tokens over the next 10 years, distributing approximately 100M $POL tokens annually. In the first phase, 35M $MATIC tokens, valued at $27M, will be allocated to projects.
The Community Grants Program offers two tracks:
General Grant Track: Open to any project building on Polygon, focusing on developer tools, protocol infrastructure, and dApps.
Consumer Crypto Track: Targeted at projects that drive crypto adoption through consumer applications, including gaming, gamified commerce, NFT innovations, and content creation.
Weekly NFT Marketplace Trading Volume Across Major Blockchains 📣
Over the past week, the NFT marketplaces reduced to a total volume of $173.6 million (-17.1% weekly) in total, in which ETHEREUM leads the NFT marketplace with a 65% (+8% weekly) market share. Polygon jumped to Top 2 with a market share at 17%.
